This course explores the many aspects of the profession of early childhood education, focusing on developmentally appropriate practices, types of programs, historical perspectives, ethics, current issues, and what it means to be a professional. This course will cover what it takes to understand and educate young children, and how to provide them the support they and their families need and deserve. It will focus on the ever-changing aspects of early childhood education, and how this creates both challenges and opportunities for you to overcome and explore on your journey in the profession of early childhood education.

Define early childhood education the professional behaviors that are associated with early childhood education
Demonstrate understanding of early learning theories, program models and developmentally appropriate practices
